Description

Crossroads Gourd/Goat Skin Lyre 8 String has the dimensions of: 22″ Tall x 15.25″ Wide x 6″ Deep. A very strong thick shelled Gourd has a Goat Skin tightly stretched over the opened Gourd. The Skin is adhered with Upholstery Tacks and Wood Glue. The Bridge is Spanish Cedar; Strings are Musical Nylon of different gauges. The rest of the wood structure is a very strong tropical hardwood, Bote’ Wood. Tuning Pegs are Ebony Viola Pegs that fit into holes that are precisely tapered to the same taper of the Pegs. Each Tuning Peg has “Peg Dope” applied which aids grip. Different tunings can be had via the function of the Tuning Pegs. The sound is fantastic, very rich and strong!
