West African Ivory Coast Goat Skin is streched over an opened Gourd and adhered with Upholsery Tacks. The stem is Black Walnut with Ebony Viola Pegs for tuning. Each Peg (with a little “peg dope”) sets in a hole that has the precise taper of the Peg. This is a viable mechanism allowing for various tunings. The Bridge is Lacewood and the Bridge Foot is Basswood. A piece of Willow Branch is used to Bridge stabilization with Nylon Cord. The handles are Reed, similar to Bamboo. Soundboard cross pieces are Purple Heart Wood. The 10 Strings are various gauges of Musical Nylon. The internally Mounted Electric Pickup is a Big Shot Piezo Crystal Transducer.
