Lyre

Crossroads Lyre are most often made utilizing Goat Skin stretched over an opened Gourd thereby providing the soundboard and resonating body. Strong hardwood is used to create the support arms and pegboard. Violin or Viola tuning pegs are used for the tuning system. This works well because the taper of the peg holes matches the taper of the pegs and each peg has a touch of peg dope added.
